The end is here :-(

Dear all

This is the last update for this wonderful, amazing year. What an incredible year it has been. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to such a special year at nursery. We have loved all your children and had the best time.

Have a great summer and see you all again soon 🙂

What is it like in reception?

This morning we arranged for some children from reception to visit so that our children could ask them questions about what is it like in reception. All four of the children had also been in the nursery so they were able to identify a bit with how the children might be feeling.

Some questions and (honest) answers were:

Can mummies and daddies still come in in the morning? Yes, it’s the same. They can stay until high 5.

Is it fun? Yes lots of fun!

What happens at lunchtime? You get taken to the lunch hall and get your lunch. It’s the same except you can sit where you want and when you are finished you can go straight out to play.

What happens if you eat slowly? If you are slow your friends might finish before you and you will have less playtime!

Do adults help you at lunch? There are lots of adults in the hall. They can help you cut up food, or if you spill something. The food is still nice.

What is the best thing about reception? You go on lots of trips, you learn cool things and you get to play!

Hopefully the children enjoyed it and it’s answered some questions. It is totally normal for them to have questions and worries. We have been watching a couple of CBeebies shows that the children have enjoyed.

Your support for ‘Trek Through The Night’

walking

Kate, Jane, Matthew, Giles, Debs and Dave would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored our 40 mile ‘Trek Through the Night’ walk. We set off at midnight and we all crossed the finish line at 3.30pm yesterday (Sunday).   It was one of the hardest things we have ever done and we were one of very few teams who crossed the finish line with all members standing.  Knowing that we had everyone’s support made such a difference.
We’ve raised about £3000 for Action Medical Research which is a fantastic amount.  And it’s still not too late to donate if you would like to – just follow this link https://www.action.org.uk/sponsor/TheSlendertones
Thank you again everyone!

Water play day tomorrow

Just a reminder about tomorrow, please make sure your child comes to school with swimming attire, change of clothes, sun cream, hat and shoes suitable for running and getting wet. If you are able to bring in any water toys that would be great!

Elephant poo, charcoal art, guinea pigs et al

Sounds like another fun filled week in the life of Rosendale nursery 2016/2017. The penultimate week of our adventure 😥

Thanks to Nick for coming in with his amazing stuff, the kids and adults learned such a lot.

Also thanks to all the parents who came in to look at all our observations over the years. Please contact us if you want to come in again or indeed ask questions abou the observations. We can make time for you whenever you can make it in.

Next week it’s party day on Thursday and then Friday our last day will be Games  and film day. Oh yes also we are going to have some water fun so change of clothes could be good 🙂

Have a great weekend
