Drawing with charcoal

This morning we had a visit from Bella’s Dad who showed us some fascinating things from Africa. We got to touch bones from a pelican, an elephant’s hip bone and a hippo’s toenail! We also got to look at an elephant poo!

We all learnt how to draw an elephant using charcoal and then had a go at drawing our own. Then we had a go at drawing a frog. Some absolutely wonderful masterpieces!

Open afternoon – Friday

At 2.30pm on Friday 14th July parents are invited to an open afternoon to view your child’s online journal. This has photos, videos and observation notes that adults have made on your child all year.

It would be useful to get a rough number of people who think they would like to attend so that I can get enough ipads. If you plan to attend, please email me:

Also, if you would like to attend please bring earphones to listen to the recordings.

Weekly round up

We have had a fantastic, buys fun filled week in nursery. On Thursday we had a great day out at the park for our school’s map day. We have been chatting to the children this week about next year and their move to nursery. There is a lot of excitement! We have continued our beach topic too and also talked about sea facts. We found out about whales and how big they are. Did you know a whale is as big as 4 double decker buses!

We rounded off the week with a lovely music concert. Thanks so much Sladjana for organising.
