Drum fun!

Such great fun in nursery this Friday where we all had a go at playing the Djembe drum. We learned rhythms that go along with our names. Such fun and we were so impressed with how the children did 🙂

Weekly update

We have laughed, smiled and managed to whizz through a settling in come starting first week in Nursery. We had so much fun and a big thanks to all the kids and parents for being so positive and brilliant this week. More photos to come soon of our brilliant drumming today and other things we got on with, but for now here is the school’s weekly newsletter.

today’s newsletter,

Have a great weekend.

Phew!

What a big day! Thanks to all the children, we had a lovely first day in nursery. I reckon there’ll be quite a few tired people this evening!

Mr Ellis will see you tomorrow for another fantastic day, I’ll be back for more fun on Monday.

Delicious lunch!

We have had our lunch. The children did amazingly well, several adults in the lunch hall commented on how well the children sat and behaved. You wouldn’t guess it was their first day!

Today we had chicken and rice with corn on the cob and broccoli, and cake and ice cream for pudding. The children had some salad too (a few even had some olives) and fruit and fresh bread if they wanted it.

We were very proud of the way they handled lunch time. Well done Nursery!

Last settling in session!

This afternoon we had the last group of children for their final settling session. We had a jigsaw puzzle extravaganza! We covered most of the carpet in puzzles. We had a story all about a tiger who lost his smile and enjoyed our fruit with a song. Everyone had a really nice time.

Now we need to get the nursery ready for everyone starting tomorrow!

Lots more fun!

This morning we had another very brave group of nursery children spend some time in the nursery without their parents and carers. They did so well, we had a lot of fun. We did some dot painting, built some weird and wonderful creatures, dressed up, played with the water and the cars, had fruit time, a story and listened to a song. Phew!

We are ready for the last settling in session this afternoon and we can’t wait to see some children for their first full day tomorrow!

Settling in, circle time and fruit talk!

Today we got close to the end of our settling in fun. The children got used to checking themselves in to nursery by putting their name onto the “I am here board”

We also had some busy time, before sitting down to have our fruit snack and chat about among other things, fruit we liked, animals we know and colours we love. We also read a lovely story called “Augustus’s smile” and talked about what makes us happy. What makes you happy?
